Get startedIt is important to stay hydrated, but drinking loads of water just isn't for everyone... But don't worry, because we have a recipe that will help you stay hydrated and ensure you get all the vitamins you need. This watermelon pizza recipe is a fun, healthy way to create pizza with a twist.. The basis watermelon and other fruits!
Watermelon is the perfect snack. As you might've guessed, it contains mostly water! This is an easy recipe that will help you and your little ones stay hydrated even if they don't drink loads of water.
Don’t worry you will not have to bake the dough or run to the store to grab tomato sauce or mozzarella!
We created a pizza recipe mostly made from fruits, nuts and other healthy topping ideas. This recipe is a great way to engage kids in the process of preparing food, since the topping ingredients are all up to you! If you choose to make the Watermelon pizza the same way we did it, here is our recipe:
What you will need
- Watermelon
- Yogurt
- Strawberries
- Blueberries
- Blackberries
- Peach
- Coconut (shredded)
- Chia seeds
The process
First of all, you have to create the base for the pizza. Cut the watermelon into slices (the slices have to be made from the whole watermelon, so don’t cut it in half lengthwise!). We then decided to cut the watermelon slice into 8 even pieces, just to avoid making a mess!
Now is time to put yoghurt on your watermelon slices. Spread the yoghurt evenly over all 8 slices. Now the fun part begins. Grab your fruit toppings and cover the slices with them! To end in style, add some shredded coconut and chia seeds for the finishing touch.
That’s it! Easy right?
Pro tip: if you want to add some extra crunchiness to your watermelon pizza, we recommend you put it in the freezer for 15 minutes!
